Dr Huanting Wang is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Computer Science at the University of Leeds. His research sits at the intersection of machine learning and systems software, spanning applied machine learning for program understanding, ML- and LLM-based software security, and machine-learning-driven code optimisation. His bug- and vulnerability-detection techniques have uncovered over 100 bugs and 50 CVEs in widely used production software.

He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Leeds in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Zheng Wang, and previously served as a Research Fellow at Leeds. His work has been recognised with a Distinguished Paper Award at CGO 2025, and his research on software vulnerability prediction was ranked among the ESI Top 1% Highly Cited papers.
